The results of the study of adsorption activity of sorbents from sunflower shells in relation to substances of different nature – methylene blue, methyl orange and iodine are given. Physical and chemical characteristics of sorbents are studied: bulk density, pH value of aqueous solution, mass fraction of ash, moisture and watersoluble substances. The data of elemental, X-ray phase analysis and IR spectroscopy of ash residues of the obtained sorbents are also presented.
