Fluoride and mixed-ligand fluoride complexes of indium(III): synthesis and structure (review). R.L. DAVIDOVICH (Institute of Chemistry, FEB RAS, Vladivostok).
The performed systematic studies on the chemistry and structure of fluoride and mixed-ligand fluoride complexes of indium(III) obtained from aqueous solution of hydrofluoric acid are systematized and discussed. 21 fluoride complex of indium(III) are synthesized and structurally investigated, 17 of them are obtained for the first time. New structural motives are established: molecular mixed-ligand indium(III) complexes with monodentate coordinated 4-amino-1,2,4-triazole molecules; centrosimmetric octahedral complex anions [InF4(H2O)2]- with trans-arrangement of coordinated H2O molecules in Rb[InF4(H2O)2] and Cs[InF4(H2O)2]; zigzag polymeric fluoride bridged chain structure (NH4)2[InF5]; octahedral complex anions [InF4(H2O)2]- with cis-arrangement of coordinated H2O molecules in [Cu(H2O)6] [InF4(H2O)2]2; one-dimensional polymeric fluoride bridged chain structure M[Cu(H2O)4][InF6]·nH2O (M = Rb, Cs, NH4; n = 0, 1); presence of In(III) atoms in the hexafluoride complex anion[InF6]3- and in the hexaaqua complex cation [In(H2O)6]3+ in a new type of indium(III) fluoride complex [N(CH3)4]6[In(H2O)6][InF6]3·18H2O; new type of indium(III) fluoride complex with mixed cations and anions (NH4)2[Ni(H2O)6](InF6)F and (NH4)3[Ni(H2O)6](InF6)F2; polymeric chain structure M2[InF3(SO4)H2O] (M = K, NH4) with bidentate coordinated bridging sulfate groups; polymeric chains formed by alternating double bridging F–F bonds and bridging bis-bidentate (tetradentate) oxalate groups in M2[InF3(C2O4) H2O] (M = K, Rb); the first complexes of indium(III) with amino acids (GlyH)3[InF6], (β-AlaH)[InF4(H2O)2]·0.5H2O and (β-AlaH)2[InF5(H2O)]·2H2O.
