Development of satellite monitoring in IACP FEB RAS. A.I. ALEKSANIN, M.G. ALEKSANINA, V.A. LEVIN (Institute of Automation and Control Processes, FEB RAS, Vladivostok).
The article is devoted to the history of the formation and development of satellite monitoring technologies in the IACP FEB RAS. The directions of researches and development of data processing technologies in the field of remote sensing of the Earth from space are presented. The developed technologies and approaches to data analysis allowed to carry out satellite monitoring of the large disasters in the Asia-Pacific Region, such as the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in March 2011 and the large-scale harmful algal blooms (phytoplankton) in the waters of the Kamchatka Peninsula in September-October 2020. The adaptation of the created technologies to the Russian satellites makes it possible to obtain processing products in accordance with international quality standards.
