Institute of Marine Geology and Geophysics Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMGG FEB RAS), the oldest institution of academic sciences in the Far East, is celebrating its 75th anniversary. The history of the Institute, its contribution to the creation of a scientific basis for the development of the economy, to fundamental research is briefly covered in the article. The article provides an overview of the established scientific schools, modern areas of activity and the most important achievements of the team.
