The active development of tourism on the Sakhalin Island in recent years makes necessary a complex description of unique natural objects that are most attractive for recreational activities. The most optimal and cost-effective, based on world experience, is the organization of such activities in national parks, which are often created on the basis of existing natural monuments. It is perspective to create a national park in the southeast of the Sakhalin Island, where it will be based on a number of water bodies of lagoon origin, including Ptichye Lake.
