History of studying benthic fauna and flora of the Far Eastern Marine Reserve (Peter the Great Bay, Sea
of Japan). E.G. RAYEVSKAYA (Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok), I.R. LEVENETS (A.V. Zhirmunsky
National Scientific Center of Marine Biology, FEB RAS, Vladivostok), E.B. LEBEDEV (Far Eastern Marine Biosphere
Reserve. A.V. Zhirmunsky National Scientific Center of Marine Biology, FEB RAS, Vladivostok).
The history of researches of benthic fauna and flora in the Far Eastern Marine Biosphere Reserve and the adjacent
waters of Peter the Great Bay (Sea of Japan) was briefly described. The comparative retrospective analysis of benthic
flora of the Southern and Eastern parts of the Reserve based on the results of the researches of the late 20th century
was carried out. According to the results of monitoring researches of the beginning of the 21st century, the floristic and
faunistic changes in the composition of bottom biota are discussed.
