Based on the results of the MTT analysis, Histochrome® possesses antiviral activity against both tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) and herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1). Its IC50 against TBEV and HSV-1 at an infecting dose of 102 TCID50/ml were 21.8±2.6 μg/ml and 18.8±2.1 μg/ml, respectively (p≤0,05). When evaluating its effect at different stages of the development of these viruses, it was shown that the drug is more effective at the early stages of the virus life cycle.
