The results on the study of Oligocene faunae remains of bivalves from the Kholmsk formation in the South-West Sakhalin are presented. The habitat conditions in the early and late Kholmian time of Sakhalin were analyzed for the first time. Bivalves Mya grewingki (Makiyama) were found in faunae of the formation stratum along the whole section of the Pravda River. Considering the geological age of the taxon, this allowed to corroborate the Oligocene age for Kholmsk formation rock masses containing faunae.
