Features of the viral abortion’s epizootology of horses in Yakutia

The circulation of herpes virus infection in horses has been established in almost all areas of Yakutia involved in breeding herd horses. Long-term survival of the pathogen and a low level of planned diagnostic and preventive measures determine the stationarity and frequency of viral abortions. To reduce morbidity and economic damage, a complex of measures should be carried out with compulsory diagnostic studies and preventive immunization with vaccine against herpesviruses in disadvantaged, threatened and healthy areas.
