The results of a multi-year (1993–2017) introductory study of elecampane high in southern Primorye are presented. The cycle of its seasonal development from the beginning of spring aftergrowing to maturation of seeds during cultivation is considered. Studies have established adaptability to local soil and climatic factors; specific features of biology, raw materials and seed production have been determined. Attention is paid to the possible danger of contamination of local biocenoses. A characteristic of elecampane high (Mayak cultivar) is given, which yields 14–23 centners of dry root per hectare.
