Popularization of the scientific knowledge about the plant world as an element of environmental education.

Abstract

Popularization of scientific knowledge about the plant world contributes significantly to environmental education and human understanding of its place in the biosphere. Botanical gardens play a special role here. The work on popularization scientific knowledge, which is carried out in the Botanical Garden-Institute of FEB RAS, is closely connected with the ecological education of the population not only in Vladivostok, but also in Primorsky Krai. It is based on the scientific potential of employees, collections of living plants, biological diversity of plant communities in forest territory. This work is aimed at shaping a positive attitude towards the plant world, understanding the need to preserve its diversity.
