Abstract

A new gravimetric method has been developed for determining the content of asphaltenes in oil, asphalt-resin-paraffin deposits (ARPD), heavy oil products (fuel oil, bitumen) and oil sludge.
For the complete isolation of asphaltenes and the removal of paraffinic and resinous substances from the analyzed samples, it is proposed to use isopropyl alcohol, and use nefras instead of heptane. The analysis is carried out in 1 day and has good reproducibility and low error.
