The statistical estimation of the homogeneity of long-term series of temperature and seawater salinity was carried out when changing the methods, timing and places of their measurement at the stations of the Far Eastern coastal network.
For the water temperature, two factors have been identified that violate the homogeneity of long-term observation series – a shift in the standard observation time and a shift in the observation place.
Two main factors of the homogeneity disruption of long-term series of seawater salinity have been established: the absence of synchronous observations when switching from one method to another one and GM-65 error when its operation exceeds the calibration interval.
