Abstract

Research of free oscillations of the Earth dynamics with a period of 20.5 minutes by laser interference method. O.A. LEVOSHKO, G.I. DOLGIKH (V.I. Il’ichev Pacific Oceanological Institute, FEB RAS, Vladivostok).

We analyzed the records of laser strainmeters, containing information about eight tsunamigenic earthquakes which occurred in various areas of the Pacific Ocean to study the dynamics of the free oscillations of the Earth with a period of 20.46 minutes. It is established that only on the record of one earthquake with a magnitude of 9.3 there is a different course of maxima for this oscillation.
